TV shows that were cancelled too soon: Masterpost

As mentioned before I would like to talk a little about those TV shows that got cancelled too soon, and that consequently also ended on cliffhangers or dissatisfying conclusions (with one exception, we come to that later).

Over the years I have, being the TV junkie I am, watched many TV shows. I once made a list and it had more than a hundred titles on it, including US, British and German shows as well as animes. I started out with SciFi, but soon took a liking to Crime and Drama; but I also watched Fantasy/Supernatural/Historical genres.

I am not particular about the category; the most important thing is that it catches me, has something that appeals to me, like characters I can relate to, a fascinating setting, interpersonal relationships that are intriguing, or simply a clever premise. Sometimes it’s even enough to make me laugh where I don’t expect it – not because it’s comedy and expected to be funny, but because it’s honest and just… well, you could say “life-like”.

I have in total 11 TV shows on my list; shows that go back 23 years, but also recent ones. With some of them I mostly regret that they ended because of a cliffhanger; others I fell in love with so quickly and so hard that I treasure every single episode there is and watch them repeatedly in hopes to still discover something I haven’t seen before just so I can pretend that there are, indeed, more than just those few episodes.

This will be the masterpost linking to all posts about these shows, which are the following:

  • Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders (2016/2017)
  • Eleventh Hour (2008)
  • E-Ring (2005)
  • Forever (2014)
  • Galavant (2015/2016)
  • Lie To Me (2009-2011)
  • Mental (2009)
  • Moonlight (2007)
  • Mr. & Mrs. Smith (1996)
  • Salvation (2017/2018)
  • Stargate: Universe (2009/2010)
